Hollywoods biggest stars graced the red carpet at the 88th Academy Awards last night. As jewelry afficiandos, our eyes focused on the jewelry that those celebs rocked. From statement earrings, platinum jewelery, and low cut gowns, the Oscars red carpet fashion is a must see. Take a look at our best dressed jewelry.
Ronan's Chopard earrings showcased nearly six carats of jadeites and 3.25 carats of diamonds set in white gold. Her intentionally mismatched earrings were the biggest jewelry fashion statement of the night. This fashion statement was first modelled in the Celine 2016 Spring Runway, yet now that it made its way to the Oscars it is sure to start a trend. The jadeite in her earrings was also said to represent the same thing that her green Calvin Klein gown represented, her home country, Ireland.
Alicia Vikander, Kerry Washington, & Julianne Moore
Our three runner ups dazzled the red carpet with their statement earrings. The winner of best actress in a supporting role, Alicia Vikander, wore statement Louis Vuitton earrings to match her Louis Vuitton dress. Kerry Washington threw it back with 42 carats of diamonds in her vintage 1963 statement earrings set in platinum by Harry Winston. And Julianne Moore once again rocked the carpet with her nearly 13 carats of diamonds in her white gold Chopard earrings.
Tina Fey, Naomi Watts, & Charlize Theron
Here are the three necklaces that stole the show. Naomi Watts and Tina Fey both chose Bulgari diamond chokers to complement their strapless gowns. Naomi's was pave diamonds set in white gold, while Tina's had big bold sapphires to complement the purple of her Versace gown. Charlize Theron, on the other hand, slayed in a $3.7 million dollar Harry Winston creation. The 48 carat secret cluster necklace set in platinum perfectly complemented the plunging neckline of her Christian Dior crimson gown.
